Susan Rose, Singing Grandma

Hi, and welcome to my website. Here are some things to know about me:

  • I got pretty old. It’s kind of shocking even when it’s gradual.

  • I started singing solos in kindergarten. Now I’m almost 83 and I’ve become a better and better singer, even in the last few years.

  • You can change, learn, and improve, regardless of age. It’s possible! I have worked my butt off to discover this is true.

  • Creativity is an incredible blessing. It’s like finding your own unicorn and daring to ride it.

  • I have finished my 7th album of mostly original music, and each album is better than the last. I am highlighting the most recent one, “Something Special”, because it is actually special.

  • I have had a private practice of psychotherapy for over 50 years, and I still love the work. Creativity also shows up in that line of work; in fact, it’s needed!

  • I actually have three great-grandchildren. I never expected that!

  • I hope you will really enjoy my music. And if you do, tell your friends about it!

“Susan Rose is one of the most intelligent and wise singer-songwriters I know. She inspires so many with her truth telling, humor, and insight. A word that describes her well is De Lightful, being of the light!”

Rebecca Folsom, award-winning singer/songwriter

“Susan Rose’s songs are vivid with color and life. Characters leap out of her songs like they did in your favorite childhood story book. The genre of folk music is the perfect setting for her sharp wit, keen observations, and moving ballads. Susan has a gift for writing beautiful, timeless melodies, yet, I am always drawn in by her gentle, powerful and unmistakable voice.”

Sally Barris, Grammy nominee, gold and platinum singer/songwriter

“Rarely have I had as much fun in the studio with a client as I had with Susan Rose. As a songwriter she has incredible range, with songs from quirky and clever to poignant, haunting, and heart-wrenching.”

Tom Wasinger, 3-time Grammy winning producer
